Board Meeting Minutes | June 2010

BOARD OF TRUSTEES

The Ada Community Library Board of Trustees held its monthly board meeting June 15, 2010 at the Merc. in Hidden Springs. Board members present were Anita Lochner, Jason Meyers, Carol Mills and Julie Oberle. Staff members present were Mary DeWalt, Martha Beller and Terri Wear.

1. MONTHLY MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES IS CALLED TO ORDER.
   Carol Mills called the meeting to order at 4:06pm.
2. CONSENT AGENDA
1. Changes or additions to the agenda:
2. The minutes of the May 2010 monthly meeting were presented.
3. The Financial statements for May 2010 were presented.
   Jason Meyers moved to accept the minutes and financial statements, Julie Oberle seconded, the motion carried.
3. DIRECTOR’S REPORT, CORRESPONDENCE AND PUBLIC COMMENT
   Various subjects were discussed
4. REPORTS FROM DEPARTMENT HEADS
   Terri reported on last weekend’s book sale.
5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
1. Branch Status
   Lease ready to be signed
2. Patron Rights and Responsibilities Policy modification
   After a brief discussion, Jason Meyers moved to accept the policy, Julie Oberle seconded, the motion carried.
3. Other
   Lynx Agreement is ready for review/signatures and will be on July agenda
6. NEW BUSINESS
1. Election status, election of officers, committee appointments, monthly meeting date/time
   Anita Lochner was given the oath of office by Board Chair Carol Mills. Jason Meyers moved to continue Carol Mills as Chair, himself as Co-Chair, and Julie Oberle as Treasurer, Julie Oberle seconded, the motion carried. Budget committee will consist of Anita Lochner, Julie Oberle, Mary DeWalt, Martha Beller and Terri Wear. Futures committee remains Carol Mills and Steven Ricks. Meeting date and time to remain 3rd Tuesday at 4pm
2. Annual review of policies – calendar for areas in need of revision
   The board reviewed the annual schedule
3. FY10 Audit Proposal
   After a brief discussion, Anita Lochner moved to retain Folke CPA’s for the audit, Jason Meyers seconded, Julie Oberle abstained, the motion carried.
7. DATE OF NEXT MEETING AND ADJOURNMENT
   The next monthly meeting will be held at the Victory Branch on July 20th, 2010 at 4:00pm Julie Oberle moved to adjourn the meeting, Jason Meyers seconded, the meeting adjourned at 5:20 pm.
