Let's Talk About It: We Are What We Eat

We Are What We EatFood is one of human beings’ favorite obsessions. Most people spend a great deal of time physically and mentally preoccupied with food: we organize and prepare meals, we daydream about what’s for lunch or dinner; we eat. Beyond simply an enjoyable, necessary human pastime, though, eating has important implications for how we think of ourselves, and how we relate to the larger culture.

This Let's Talk About It! book discussion series is hosted by the Victory Branch Library. All of the programs are free and book sets are available to borrow from the library throughout the series. Let's Talk About It!Idaho libraries have been bringing reading and discussion programs to their communities since 1985. The addition of a program speaker is what makes Let’s Talk About It (LTAI) different from a traditional book discussion program. Let's Talk About It brings together humanities scholars and adult readers in public libraries to read and discuss fine literature which explores American values, history and culture.

This program is made possible by the Idaho Humanities Council, the National Endowment for the Humanities, a generous gift from U.S. Bank, our community partner Hugo's Deli and administered by the Idaho Commission for Libraries.
