New Back-to-School & Career Services!!

UPDATE: KTVB featured First Lady Lori Otter introducing our new Tutor.com service: Wal-Mart donation brings tutor assistance to public libraries. Be sure to check out the video clip for more information about the service!

Need a little extra help in a school subject area, or perhaps you could use some tips on updating your resume, setting up a household budget, or studying for an entrance exam? Check out Tutor.com for one-to-one live homework help. Certified tutors are available online to work with you on homework in English, social studies, math (basic through calculus and statistics), science (basic through physics), as well as special adult services such as GED and University level standardized test prep, help with resumes and cover letters, job searching, financial literacy, and citizenship. Tutor.com can be accessed from within any Ada Community Library Branch and from home or work via an Ada Community Library card.

Have a question or need information? Now, in addition to calling or emailing, you can “text a librarian” – anywhere, anytime from your mobile phone! Simply dial 66746 and put “askit” at the beginning of your question. We strive to answer right away but if your question comes in after hours, we will reply the next open day. While this is a free library service, your own text rate plan would apply.

Looking for solitary, one-on-one tutoring, or group study space? Ada Main and Star branch each have a room for you. At the Main branch you can choose between our small study room and the Forrey Room which has an interactive whiteboard for multisensory, multidimensional lessons.

Working on a project that could be enhanced with video content? Check out a FlipVideo camcorder from any Ada Community Library location. FlipVideo cameras are available for short term checkout. They are easy to use and offer easy downloading into your PowerPoint or other project application.
