Over 800,000 Library Materials Checked Out This Year!

800,000 check-outsYesterday the Ada Community Library's  check-out numbers crossed the 800,000 mark!  Thank you to all our library patrons who checked out library materials this year!  I hope you saw our balloons and got a candy bar!  Circulation statistics have been increasing dramatically over the past few years which shows how important libraries are in our community.  This statistic for circulation in FY'08, which ends in October, is expected to put ACL into the third highest circulation ranking in the state behind Boise Public Library and Idaho Falls Public Library.

Mary DeWalt, Library Director, said of ACL staff, "I am certainly proud of all of you!"  Circulation staff, collection development staff, and programming staff have worked together to provide the kind of library that our patrons have used so enthusiastically this year.  Kelly Stinson Mullens, Library Board Chair, commented "That is one big number that reflects a TON of work and the desire on the part of patrons to come back for more.  That desire, in and of itself, is attributed to the terrific customer service and care that each staff member puts forth in his or her work.  Each of you has helped create comfortable and welcoming places for the exploration of dreams, ideas and information."

Thanks again for a great year at the Ada Community Libraries.  We are always eager to hear from you, your suggestions, requests and comments!
