The Three Little Dassies

Why is it a pick?

Jan Brett’s picture books are always wonderful and this one is no exception. The Three Little Dassies retells the story of the “The Three Little Pigs” only this time the pigs are dassies (guinea pig-like creatures),the wolf is an eagle and the whole story takes place in South Africa. Brett’s wonderfully intricate drawings are made even better by the outfits each one of the animals wears.

Summer Reading Fun June 15-17 at HSB

Sign ups for Summer Reading are ongoing--be sure you don't miss out on the prizes just for reading! Here are this week's activities:

Tuesday June 15th @ 3PM we are showing The Tale of Despereaux at the library. The movie is rated G and will run 94 minutes. (In case you haven't heard of Despereaux--he is a very brave mouse who saves a princess.)

Wednesday, June 16th @ 2PM we will be making paper on the porch of the library! Hope for a warm, sunny afternoon so the paper will dry quickly. :-)
