MARCH BOARD MEETING
ADA COMMUNITY LIBRARY
BOARD OF TRUSTEES

The Ada Community Library Board of Trustees held its monthly board meeting on March 19, 2024. Board members present were Melodie Huttash, Carol Mills, Mary Anne Saunders, and Sandy Taylor. Staff members present were Mary Allington, Mary DeWalt, Alex Hartman, Monika Pomper, Jamie Thill, and John Thill.

    1. MONTHLY MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES IS CALLED TO ORDER.
      CM called the meeting to order at 8:33 am.
    2. CONSENT AGENDA
      1. Changes to the agenda.
      2. The minutes of Tuesday, February 20, 2024 were presented.
      3. The financial reports for February were presented.
        MAS moved to accept the consent agenda, ST seconded, the motion carried.
    3. DIRECTOR’S REPORT, PUBLIC WRITTEN CORRESPONDENCE 
      The board briefly discussed public written correspondence presented by MD.
    4. QUARTERLY STATISTICS
      1. N/A
    5. UNFINISHED BUSINESS
      1. Star Branch Library Expansion Update
        MAS, MD, and a SBL expansion committee member presented information about logistics and fundraising. MD and MA will meet to discuss moving forward.
      2. Hidden Springs Library expansion update.
        JT and a HSB consultant presented information about logistics.
      3. Legislative update
        SB 1235 was introduced to the Senate State Affairs Committee. HB 710 passed the House and was introduced in the State Affairs Committee. It is not on the agenda yet
    6. NEW BUSINESS
      1. Volunteer Policy Update
        MAS moved to accept the volunteer policy update, ST seconded, and the motion carried.
    7. DATE OF NEXT MEETING AND ADJOURNMENT
      The next monthly meeting will be held at the Hidden Springs Branch on April 16, 2024 at 8:30am.
      MAS moved to adjourn the meeting, ST seconded, the meeting adjourned at 9:36 am.
