Ever wonder what it would be like to work at the library? Teen Volunteers help us in a variety of ways, including updating patron resources, cleaning books and toys, and assisting with programs such as Summer Reading.
Frequently Asked Questions
- How do I volunteer?
- To volunteer for a total of 10 hours or less:
- Download, print and fill out a Community Service Volunteer application and return it to the Youth Services desk at the library. You can expect a call from the Teen Volunteer Coordinator to follow soon after.
- To volunteer for a total of more than 10 hours:
- Download, print and fill out a Workforce Readiness Volunteer application and return it to the Youth Services desk at the library. You can expect a call from the Teen Volunteer Coordinator to follow soon after.
- How old do I have to be?
- Teens between the ages of 13-18. Twelve-year-olds can volunteer the summer following sixth grade.
- What will I do when I volunteer?
- Teen Volunteers help us in a variety of ways, including updating patron resources, cleaning books and toys, and assisting with programs such as Summer Reading.
- When can I volunteer?
- Let us know what days and times you can volunteer, and we will schedule you after school, on weekends -- whenever you can help! Teen Volunteers are scheduled for one to two hours a week.
- Why would I want to volunteer?
- There are many benefits to volunteering with the Ada Community Library, such as:
- Gain work experience
- Serve your community
- Make new friends and be of service to others
- Fulfill school or scout requirements
