Why is this a pick?:
The Marvel universe arises about 400 years before schedule, triggering the possible destruction of the universe. Many familiar Marvel superheroes put in an appearance, from the X-Men and Spider Man to Nick Fury. The story is by one of my favorite authors, Neil Gaiman. Adam Kubert's art is exceptional.

Why is this a pick?:
Clark Kent continues his journey to becoming Superman in volume two of the Earth One series, which you can definitely read with or without having read volume one. Interesting story, even though some of the inconsistencies in the illustration threw me off sometimes. Any fan of Superman will enjoy this one!

This was a quick, awesome read, even for a novice in the graphic novel world. We get to see Batman in development, with some lesser known characters, and new twists on the familiar ones.

This book tells the true story of the author's dental turmoil. One day she is a perfectly normal preteen, then she has a bad fall and severely damages her front teeth. The fall-out from this goes on for years. A book for anyone who has ever not fit in. Great illustrations and story line.
