Outdoor book drops:
Our outdoor book drops are open.

Interlibrary Loans:
Interlibrary Loans have resumed.

Courier and Holds:
The courier service is running at full strength again, so the limit on holds has been raised back up to 15 items at any one time.

Service hours are Monday - Saturday 11 - 6 for the following services (except for online chat hours which are M - F 11 - 5):

Library Use by Appointment:
All Ada Community Library buildings have reopened for use by appointment. Here’s how it works:

  • Call us (208-362-0181) during service hours.
  • Make your appointment for a visit lasting up to 20 minutes.
  • Let us know the number of people in your group.
  • Hear our new guidelines for safe library visits.

*You can have one appointment per day.

**On Mondays the first appointment slots (between 11 am - 12 pm) will be reserved for vulnerable populations only.

Phone and Online Chat Services:
Our staff is available to assist you over the phone or through our new online chat service. We will be here to guide you in using our online resources, troubleshoot any problems with those resources or with your account and research answers to questions you might have.

Curbside Pickup:
Call to request items that are currently checked in at your local branch or to ask for your items currently on the hold shelf. Please allow 15 minutes for staff to complete the request before you arrive for your no-contact pickup.

Computer Access by Appointment:
Two computers are currently available at each location for conducting vital online work in isolation. Once a day, an appointment between 30-90 minutes may be made by contacting us during posted service hours. Five pages may be printed for free. For large print jobs or scanning or faxing services, please speak with staff about our options.

Virtual Programs and Summer Reading:
We have prepared a full lineup of virtual events for all ages, including favorites like music and movement, crafts, book clubs, teen events and more! You can get access to all virtual events through the events page.

Our online Summer Reading program has begun! Visit the Summer Reading page to find out how to earn collectible buttons and entries into weekly raffles for exciting prizes!

Online services (available 24/7):
We urge you to stay home and use our digital services, which are always available. Download ebooks, eaudiobooks and magazines; stream movies and music; anduse our online resources from the comfort of home with your library card. Newly available: Take advantage of the huge TumbleBooks ebook collection listed here, spanning all genres and all ages, which TumbleBooks has made available during this time, no library card needed. Future Programs and Services:

On the topic of COVID-19, the Library will continue to work with Central District Health Department and other local officials and will take additional steps as needed, so continue to check our website or follow us on Facebook for updates. At this time we continue to have the following measures in place:

  • We have cancelled in-person events indefinitely.
  • We have suspended volunteer and Friends activities.
  • We are not currently accepting donated items.
